Fitness, Fun for Everyone: Snapshots of the Day

I have to admit I received a little good-natured ribbing for not running in the “Fitness, Fun for Everyone” 5K Run/3K Walk that Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Fitness Center team recently hosted for the Advocate Medical Group Adult Down Syndrome Center. Luckily, I did manage to find a great vantage point—the relaxing patio benches of the Adult Down Syndrome Center’s Healing Garden—from which to view it all. The day was filled with many inspiring moments, and I’d like to share a few of my favorite ones with you.

Not here! It was all smiles and a group warm up led by the Fitness Center team.” captionposition=”center”]

We had whole families, teams from our residency program, patients, staff, neighbors and many, many more amazing supporters who joined us in making it such a tremendous event.” captionposition=”center”]

Post-race Zumba was a big hit!” captionposition=”center”]

Countless times during all the activities, I was reminded how the staff of the Adult Down Syndrome Center encourages everyone to always do their best—not just on Race Day—but every day! Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors and runners.
